Gallery Oldham lit up for Museums at Night Fest

GALLERY OLDHAM SET ALIGHT FOR MUSEUMS AT NIGHT FEST HACK OLDHAM set Oldham Gallery alight after hours last night when local children came along to fill the museum with coloured LED Throwies. Part of a UK wide festival Museums at Night aims to encourage visitors to museums, galleries and heritage by opening its doors after hours and organising special events. Anyone was invited to the free event and encouraged to create their own light sculpture, contributing to the explosion of light generated by 1000 LED lights in space of a few hours. Andy Powell, founder of Hack Oldham and owner of Caffeinated Projects, organising the event says, “We’ve been organising monthly computer clubs on Saturdays in Oldham Library for over a year now. These have been well received so we have been keen to do something with Gallery Oldham as well. When the opportunity came along between planned exhibitions we seized the chance to fill the gap with a light display.” Speaking about the event, Andy said, ”We thoroughly enjoyed organising the event and working with Gallery Oldham. Children never cease to amaze us! Their creativity has not limits so for us it was a very special experience.” Gallery Oldham’s Access and Interpretation Officer, Evad Ould-Okojie said, “We are really grateful to the support of Hack Oldham on this event. Lighting up the gallery has been great fun and a huge success! This is our first venture working with them and we look forward to working with them more in the future” Ends For further details please contact Bridget Batty, Limetree Public Relations Ltd on 07771 870400 Notes to...
Limetree PR Cupcake wins the ‘Green’ competition

Limetree PR Cupcake wins the ‘Green’ competition

OLDHAM LIBRARY hosted Oldham BizExpo last night as part of the Oldham Business Festival organised by Doing Biz for Yourself. Always looking for ways to network and collaborate Limetree PR set up a mini competition to visitors attending the event by inviting them to bring a green to our stand. Often finding that people and small business owners don’t understand what a PR does or how we could work with them we have found that setting a competition to encourage people to visit is a great ice breaker! Last Night our visitors ranged from general public to students considering setting up in business or going freelance to local business owners. Amongst those were Robert Cragg, local HR Professional, Guy Sedgwick from Cartridge World in Rochdale and the fabulous cake makers Rachel Walker from Cornerhouse Cakes in Shaw. We have got to say that the cakes on Rachel’s stall really took our eye particularly when a Limetree PR personalised cupcake was presented to us at the end of the...
